Ristroph Gadget Company
Gunnar Ristroph began serving on boards in 7th grade when he was elected Parliamentarian of a school group. He continued taking on leadership positions and following his interest in Parliamentary Procedure and community organization while graduating high school as a National Merit Scholar with several national and local awards. Gunnar attended the top-ranked California Institute of Technology where he earned a degree with Honors in Mechanical Engineering, a minor in Control Systems and served on the Executive Committee of the student government. While in California, he served as President for three years of the one of the largest electric vehicle cooperatives in the country, managing the club's recruiting, funding, and maintenance. Since 2006 Gunnar has been employed at Ascendant Engineering Solutions in Austin, Texas.
Gunnar's frustration with ineffectual group meetings began in high school and inspired him to create a tool for modern democratic deliberation. His work on a prototype system as well as related research was presented at the 2005 Online Deliberation Conference at Stanford University and a print article in Online Deliberation, published by University of Chicago Press January 2009.
Gunnar led the team that launched, supports, and continues to develop DeliberativeAssembly.com.
